Any of these work. Use whatever you already pay for.
Google Drive or Dropbox. Share a folder with me and set it to "anyone with the link can view." This is the easiest way for most shoots, and you can keep adding files to the same folder.
Frame.io. Good if you already use it. Same idea, one shared project.
WeTransfer. Fine for a one-off send. The link expires after a few days, so send it when I'm ready to download, or tell me it's coming.
A hard drive in the mail. For a big multi-camera shoot, mailing a drive is often faster than uploading. Keep a copy before you ship it. Email me first and I'll send the address.
A few things that save time:
- Keep the link alive for a few weeks after delivery. Changes sometimes come back later and I need the originals.
- Send the original files, not copies from a phone chat or a social app. Those get compressed.
- One folder per camera, audio in its own folder. Don't rename camera files.
- You don't have to wait for everything. Send what you have and tell me what's still coming.
The longer version, with a folder template, is in the post on how to send footage to a remote video editor.
