Video editing FAQ
Questions
Straight answers about hours, revisions, files and payment. The longer versions live in the help articles.
Q01Are you a real person in the US?
Yes. I'm Vlad Levine, I live in New York, and I do the editing myself.
Q02What do you edit in?
DaVinci Resolve. If your team works in Premiere Pro, tell me up front and we'll plan the handoff.
Q03How do I send footage?
A Google Drive, Dropbox or Frame.io link, a WeTransfer, or a hard drive in the mail for big shoots. Send the original files.
Q04How fast do you reply?
Email me on a weekday and you'll get a reply the same day. I answer my own email.
Q05How fast is the first cut?
It depends on the footage. We set the date before I start, and that date is the promise.
Q06How many revisions do I get?
As many as you want. Changes are billed at $50 an hour, same as the edit, with no limit on revisions. You only pay for what you ask for.
Q07How do I review the cut?
Each version comes as a private Frame.io link. Leave notes right on the timeline, or send a list by email.
Q08Do I need to send everything at once?
No. Send what you have and add the rest as it comes in.
Q09Can you do color and audio?
Basic color and audio cleanup are part of every edit. A full grade or a full mix I'll quote separately, or bring in someone who does only that.
Q10What about music?
Music comes from a licensed library. You pick the track or I suggest a few.
Q11Do I get the raw files?
Footage you sent stays yours. If I filmed it, raw camera files are a paid add-on, never part of the edit. Project files are on request.
Q12Who owns the final video?
You do, once it's paid.
Q13Can you show my video on your site?
Only if you say yes. The default is no.
Q14How do I pay?
By invoice, card or bank transfer. Day and week work starts once the invoice is taken care of.
